Two vocal/choral workshops being held next week are open to anyone interested.

The first workshop is on Monday, August 15, from 7pm- 9pm, at St John’s Methodist Church, 44 Brook St, Sutton.

The second workshop is on Thursday, August 18, from 7pm-9pm, at St John’s Centre, St John Street, Mansfield.

Attendees can learn vocal techniques, including breathing techniques, body awareness, vowel shaping, resonance, and range extension. There will also be group singing using simple songs, familiar and unfamiliar, and rhythm work.

Diane Haslam, music director of Sutton Melody and Mansfield Choral Society, said they were all with a view to having fun while learning how to sing better.

Workshops cost £5 per person, payable by cheque or cash at the door.
