Musical treats at theatre over Easter

Classical music performances suitable for all ages and tastes is at Mansfield Palace Theatre in April.

If you’re looking for low-cost family fun for the Easter holidays, then Chimpanzees of Happy Town might be right up your street! With tickets priced £8 for adults and £5 for children, the show is on Wednesday 10 April at 11am as when bring Guy Parker-Rees’s best-selling picture book will be brought to life.

Meet Chutney the Chimpanzee who, with one small act of planting a seed, transforms the lives of the entire town of Drabsville, and teaches its inhabitants to celebrate their differences and make life more colourful along the way. The show is aimed  at 3 to 7 year-olds.

Pieces by Beethoven and more will be on Wednesday 10 April (7.30pm) as Ensemble 360 present Music in the Round at Mansfield Palace Theatre. To immerse yourself in the sound and atmosphere of the performance, theatregoers are invited to sit alongside the musicians on the stage as they play live around you.

Graffiti Classics on Thursday 11 April (7.30pm) is a classical concert, a gypsy-folk romp, an opera, a stand-up comedy set and a dance show rolled into one!

From Beethoven to bluegrass, baroque to pop, Mozart to Elvis, and Strauss to Saturday Night Fever, there is something for everyone. Tickets start at £10 for under-18s.
