Christmas at the Old Meeting House

The Old Meeting House Unitarian Chapel, Mansfield, is hosting several events over the Christmas period.

On Sunday, 15th December, during the service children and adults of the Old Meeting House will present The Innkeeper’s Story – a Christmas Nativity play by the Rev Derek Smith.

Starting from Monday, 16th December until Christmas Eve (with the exception of Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd) there will be evening devotions in the chapel, starting at 7pm, led by members under the title ‘Christmas On A Minor Theme’.

The devotions will focus on the ‘minor’ or lesser known characters of the Christmas story from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.

The choir’s traditional Christmas Sing-along will be held on Saturday, 21st December at 12.15pm with a short homily and lots of favourite carols, followed by mince pies, tea and coffee. There is no admission fee but donations for the Organ Fund are welcome.

At 2.30pm on the same day the choir will visit Red Oaks Care Home, Forest Town, for a short concert.

On Sunday, 22nd December, at 6pm, the Old Meeting House will hold its traditional Carols by Candlelight service, followed on Wednesday 25th by a Christmas Day Service at 10am.

Everyone is welcome to all events at the chapel.
