Successful A-Level results at Samworth

The Samworth Church Academy, Mansfield, said A-Level and AS-Level results continued to build on the improvements it has been making year on year.

It said the majority of students were moving on to higher education and were successful in getting into the university of their choice.

Mark Ellis achieved 3 As and will go on to study mathematics at Bristol University. Heather Fothersgill achieved 2 As and a B and will study pharmacy at Bath University.

The academy said the A-Level results represented an average performance of approximately 3 Bs per student.

Michael Griffiths, principal of the academy, said: “This has been another exciting day and we are delighted to see the strong performance of recent years maintained. Our A-Level students have shown commitment to their studies and have received fantastic support from their teachers and their parents.

“They have great futures and these results will help in giving them greater opportunities. We are delighted that many of our students are going to good universities to study fantastic courses. We wish them all the best”.

“We are pleased with another strong performance in our AS results which already gives us a strong foundation for next year’s A-Level results”.

“Our vision for the academy has always been a long-term vision. The results this year add further strength to the platform from which we can move forward in achieving the ambitions we have for the future success of our students”.
