Stags’ CEO to give £6k to sporting cause

Posted onPosted on 14th Jan

Mansfield Town Football Club’s chief executive is offering £6,000 to an individual sportsperson, sports team or sporting organisation within Mansfield, Ashfield and Bolsover, who can use the funds to benefit their sporting goals this year.

The money will be donated from The Radford Foundation, set up by Stags’ chairman John Radford and chief executive Carolyn Radford in 2014 to create a safer, stronger community for the people of Mansfield and the surrounding areas and to improve the facilities and programs that will support the community and individuals.

The foundation also supports the town’s drive, passion and fundamental commitment to economic and social growth.

Speaking about the donation, Carolyn said: “We want to help a local sportsperson, team or sporting organisation who are aspiring to achieve their personal targets in 2016.

“The money can be used towards improved coaching or advanced equipment, which should give them a better opportunity to achieve their sporting goals this year.

“There are fewer things better in life than to see hard work pay off and we hope that this donation will be highly beneficial for the recipient to help enhance their sporting abilities and achieve their goals.”

Sportspeople, teams or sporting organisations within Mansfield, Ashfield and Bolsover can apply for the donation by e-mail, directly to the Radford Foundation, [email protected]

Applicants should include their full name, team or organisation (if appropriate), address and date of birth and explain why the money will be beneficial to them and their sporting targets this year.

The donation is available to all sportspeople, teams or sporting organisations within Mansfield, Ashfield and Bolsover, regardless of gender, race, national origin, religion, age or ability.

A year ago, the Radford Foundation donated £5,000 to help set up the Stags Boxing Academy – an amateur boxing club in Mansfield, which is open to the public for all different levels, starting from the age of ten onwards.
