How will Tom Brady be remembered?

A shocking news report came out on Saturday as Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington teamed up to report that Tom Brady is retiring from football after 22 seasons. Many people have been discussing the legitimacy as Brady’s camp has refuted the news as they claim he has not decided. But something not being discussed has been how will we remember Tom Brady?

If you want to try and make as much money as Brady made throughout his career, try an online casino and have some fun at the comfort of your own home.

The Underdog?

Brady came into the NFL as the 199th overall pick in the 2000 draft after spending all four years as a Michigan Wolverine. He was not expected to be much of anything in the National Football League as he was fourth on the quarterback depth chart and failed to make an impression.

He was used to backing up as he did not start in Michigan for his first two years in college and was seventh on the depth chart. But he never gave up and continued to step up and work to find the success he eventually found.

From a scrappy, undersized quarterback that looked unathletic in the NFL Draft Combine to a seven-time Super Bowl winner and the greatest player in the history of the National Football League.

The Cheater?

Sometimes, when you can do anything it takes to win, you will be able to expand past the limits of the rules. The first scandal that Brady was a part of was SpyGate. If you are somehow living under a rock and have never heard of it, the Patriots filmed the defensive coaches’ signals of the New York Jets from an unauthorised location.

Though this is not specifically Brady, the legacy still follows him as he was the starting quarterback of the Patriots at the time and how it impacted his team.

Then, of course, we have Deflategate. This happened during the 2014 AFC Championship Game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots.

The allegation was that Brady ordered the deflation of the football that he throws underneath the NFL legal limits. Brady went to court with the National Football League over it and eventually was forced to serve a four-game suspension because of it.

The Greatest of All Time?

It takes a lot to play in the NFL for 22 seasons, but it takes a lot more to have Brady’s career. He has one of the most incredible resumes that a player could have as he holds the NFL record for quarterback wins (243), passing completions (7,263), passing attempts (11,317), passing touchdowns (624), passing yards (84,250), most completions in a season (485 in 2021), and Super Bowl victories (seven).

He has won more Lombardi Trophies than any other franchise has ever done and won five Super Bowl MVPs and three regular season MVP Awards.

People will be talking about Brady and his legacy for years to come, and he will be a unanimous Hall of Famer as soon as he is eligible.

Brady showcased the ability to escape the Patriot way and arguably became the best quarterback for two different franchises after joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and winning the first Super Bowl in a home stadium in NFL history.

There is a lot of history that is associated with Brady, and it will definitely be hard to have a portion of his success again for the rest of history.

Conclusion

Brady’s legacy is one of the more confusing ones in sports history as all three (and more) things will be synonyms of Brady and his legacy. We will never see another player like him ever again.

The twisted legacy of Tom Brady is a complicated one, and this will be heavily discussed for years to come.
