Chance to have a go at sailing

Posted onPosted on 4th Apr

Five venues in Nottinghamshire are hosting Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Push The Boat Out events in May to give people the chance to have a go at sailing.

Sutton-in-Ashfield Sailing Club, based at King’s Mill Reservoir, is holding an event on 11th May.

Other clubs taking part in the initiative include: Notts County Sailing Club, (Hoveringham Reservoir, near Hoveringham); Daneshill Sailing Club (Daneshill Lakes, near Retford); Girton Sailing Club (Girton, Newark) and Trent Valley Sailing Club (River Trent, Long Eaton).

Gareth Brookes, RYA Midlands regional development officer, said: “There has never been a better time to get active afloat. With so much focus on physical and mental wellbeing, being on the water gives everyone a chance to get away from modern life, spend time with the family, have fun with friends and just enjoy the feeling of being in the fresh air and closer to nature. Push The Boat Out lets you discover that all for free.”

All kit and safety equipment is provided on the day.
