Procurement consortium wins national award

Annesley-based regional procurement consortium Efficiency East Midlands (EEM) won the Most Innovative Procurement award at a national event.

EEM, a not-for-profit organisation established to secure efficiencies in the procurement of asset-management services, celebrated at the Housing Innovation Awards.

The awards celebrate the pioneering spirit of the housing sector and highlight examples of inventive and original schemes and services.

EEM’s initial aim was to provide a service predominantly to East Midlands-based housing organisations, but it has since grown to serve a wider audience, both geographically and by working in new sectors.

Pete Smith, managing director, said: “We have come a long way in five years and have been able to make significant changes and improvements to the procurement model that we deliver.

“This is in part down to the teams’ hard work and also due to the partnership we have with our membership and supply chain.”
