Mansfield woman named Deputy Lieutenant

Former Mansfield councillor and charity stalwart Heather Henshaw MBE is one of seven new deputy lieutenants appointed by the Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Sir John Peace.

She will assist him in his role representing The Queen in Nottinghamshire.

Heather has been active in the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) since 1971 in a variety of roles, including her current capacity as district chairman.

A former district councillor and chairman of Mansfield District Council, Heather has held a variety of community and voluntary roles, including trustee at Queen Elizabeth’s School, trustee for the Allotments of the Labouring Poor and member of Forest Town Community Council.

Sir John Peace said: “The new deputy lieutenants are from a wide variety of backgrounds and their skills and experience will stand them in good stead when representing The Queen in Nottinghamshire.

“I congratulate them on being awarded this honour. I look forward to working with them in the future.”
