Mansfield NewsJournal launched at 2020

THE Mansfield and Ashfield NewsJournal, a new free monthly newspaper, was launched at the Mansfield 2020 January breakfast meeting.

Stewart Rickersey of SMB Consultancy –  a founder member of 2010 (as 2020 was previously known) – unveiled plans for the newspaper, a news  agency and an internet TV station for the area.

He said the objective of the NewsJournal was to be the ‘good news local paper’.  The newspaper will have a community focus and will be distributed to 10,000 homes around Mansfield and surrounding areas.

Sherwood TV, an on-demand internet TV channel, will provide local news programming and features and will launch later in the year, with support from  students at Vision WestNottinghamshire College.

Sherwood News Agency will offer the best value service to local business, supplying a range of press releases to local media and guaranteeing publication in the Independent.

More than 130 leading business people attended the meeting.

Chairman Irvin Robinson asked the business group if anyone had made any business resolutions and said Mansfield 2020 will continue to drive the message:He said Mansfield 2020 was there to use the networking group’s unique platform.

The meeting was sponsored by Shacklock Solicitors & Investment Advisors. The company’s Robert Pearson gave an informative and practical presentation on how people should conduct themselves in court.

The monthly technical briefing was based on IT security and was delivered by Jon Craven, of Xuper IT.
