Shoppers can park for free in Mansfield town centre on the evening of Thursday 11 December.

Mansfield District Council is offering free parking in all Council car parks on Thursday 11 December from 5pm to coincide with Mansfield BID’s Christmas Evening Market from 6pm – 8pm in Mansfield Market Place and on Westgate.

Four Seasons Shopping Centre, in conjunction with Mansfield District Council, offers free parking in the Four Seasons multi storey car park after 5pm on Thursday late night shopping nights in the run up to Christmas (11, and 18 December) as well as free parking all day on Sundays.

All year round, there is also half an hour of free parking in the car park behind the town hall and one hour free at the Civic Centre. Town centre parking starts at just 70p an hour.

Cllr Kate Allsop, Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration at Mansfield District Council, said: “We want to encourage as many people as possible to make use of the excellent shopping facilities in Mansfield. Enabling shoppers to enjoy free parking is an added bonus for people, who wish to do their Christmas shopping at a time that is convenient to them.

“This incentive will support our local retail community and encourage residents and visitors to spend money in the town centre at this busy time of year.”
