Free family fun

Posted onPosted on 2nd Sep

Over 2000 people enjoyed a free family day out at one of the four Mansfield Summer Festival events this summer.

The events organised by Mansfield District Council were held at Carr Lane Park in Warsop, King George V Park on Black Scotch Lane, Mansfield Town Centre and Chesterfield Road Park on Chesterfield Road South.

Attractions included dog dancing demonstrations, multi-skills sports sessions, circus workshops, BMX taster sessions, arts and crafts workshops and face painting. Representatives from Mansfield District Council were also on hand to offer advice and information on a range of topics, including the Your Dog, Your Responsibility campaign. The events proved to be lots of fun for families of all ages across the District.

Councillor Philip Shields, Portfolio Holder for the Environment said: “This is the first year we have run the Mansfield Summer Festival events and we were so pleased to see how many people enjoyed them. If you want to see things like this happen in the future, or you have other suggestions for events in the community, please complete a feedback form and let us know.”

Anyone who went along to one of the events is encouraged to complete a feedback form online at www.mansfield.gov.uk/summerfestival to help inform decisions about whether to run the events in the future.
