First festival a success

Hundreds of people enjoyed a great family day out at the first Mansfield Summer Festival on Tuesday.

The event was held at Carr Lane Park in Warsop and featured a whole host of family friendly activities and entertainment. From dancing dog displays and BMX riding to circus workshops and craft activities, there was something for everyone.

This was the first of four new events which will take place across the District. The next one which will take place in Mansfield town centre on Saturday, 9th August from 10am to 3pm.

The town centre event will feature a mini Mansfield Museum with craft activities and industrial bingo, dog obedience training demonstrations, face painting, circus skills workshops and much more.

Two further events will take place on Thursday, 14th August at King George V park off Black Scotch Lane, Mansfield, and on Saturday, 23rd August on Chesterfield Road Park – next to the Civic Centre.

Councillor Philip Shields, Portfolio Holder for the Environment said: “It was great to see so many families enjoying a day out in Warsop. There was lots for people to take part in and everyone was having a really good time.

“Make sure you put the dates in your diary so you don’t miss out on the next three events.”
