Students from schools across the Mansfield area took over market stalls as part of a Junior Enterprise project, selling to the public and learning how to start their own business. The festivities were supported by carols from Garibaldi College choir, Forest Town.
Businessman Richard Fuller, who supported teams from Brunts Academy, said: “It’s brilliant to see these youngsters getting involved in their home town.”
Teams sold a range of items, from handmade candles and Christmas decorations to mugs, nail accessories and reindeer food.
Berni Dickinson, director of the Mansfield Learning Partnership, organised the event.
She said: “The partnership is about giving opportunities to young people in the community and this is the perfect way to achieve our aspiration.”
