Asquith Primary School, Mansfield, has received a £1,000 grant from Mansfield Education Foundation towards its positive attendance initiative.
Head Clare Harding and Corinna Brown, extended services co-ordinator, told trustees how the school employs a member of staff to support families with parenting skills and setting routines.
Children are rewarded for good attendance and there are class-based rewards for the best half-term and term attendance.
Clare said: “The grant will allow us to take families whose attendance is great on a trip at the end of the year.”
