Charity launches Rainbow Run

People can get showered with an explosion of colour as Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People’s Rainbow Run is back for its second year.

The Rainbow Run takes place at the Forest Recreation Ground, Nottingham, on Saturday 2 May from at 12noon. Participants will get covered with brightly coloured powder as they make their way around the 5k circuit.

The crazy, colourful day will raise vital funds for Rainbows, which cares for youngsters from Nottinghamshire with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. Last year over 400 people took part raising just over £20,000.

Katie Baxter, head of community and events at Rainbows, said: “This is such a fun event and we got tremendous feedback last year. Anyone can take part and you don’t have to run, it is all about the fun and laughter and of course, raising valuable funds for Rainbows.

“We want as many people to come along wearing a white t-shirt, and running gear they don’t mind getting messy, and we guarantee they will leave with a smile and every colour of the rainbow.”

As well as participants, Rainbows also needs volunteers armed with paint to throw at the participants as they make their way through the colour stations.

Registration opens at 10.30am and entry is adults £14, Under 15s £7, with concessions for families and teams. For more information, visit www.rainbows.co.uk/rainbowrun contact 0800 9521133 or email [email protected]
