Mansfield 2020 operations manager Caroline Cox has raised more than £1,200 for Stand Up To Cancer by completing the Nottingham Marathon, smashing her £1,000 target.
Caroline has lost two aunts and both her grandmothers to cancer, as well as seeing her mother fight the disease.
She said: “For the sake of our future generations we need to fund research for vital developments and ensure the C word no longer breaks hearts.
“There are more than 200 types of cancer and this charity won’t stop until all 200 are beaten.”
Last year Caroline completed a Tough Mudder challenge, raising £600 for the charity.
She said: “The challenge of the full marathon was testing and painful with a knee injury. But it was nothing compared to the impact of cancer and that kept me going as I counted down the miles.
“I’m overwhelmed by the generosity and level of support I have received. I am very humble and incredibly grateful.”
To support Caroline, her JustGiving page is still open at www.justgiving.com/carolinecox-10
