Budding authors will be flocking to County Hall in West Bridgford this Saturday (25 October) for the tenth New Writers UK Book Fayre and Festival.

The free event takes place from 10am to 4.30pm and includes creative writing workshops and talks from established authors, along with support and advice for aspiring writers.

BBC Radio Nottingham presenter Mark Dennison will be opening the event and attendees will include publishers, illustrators, copy editors, proof readers and printers.

Best selling author AJ Dalton will be carrying out a creative writing workshop and a presentation on securing a book deal.

Other attending authors include:

· Michael Cox – author of 30 books from children’s fiction to architecture

· Steven Bowket – writer of 63 published books covering a range of genres, from children’s fantasy to adult horror

· Nicola Monaghan – Nottingham author who is best known for her debut novel ‘The Killing Jar’.

The event also includes an awards presentation for the finalists of the 2014 Creative Writing Competition for Children of Nottinghamshire at 2pm.

Julie Malone, Founder and President of New Writers UK, said: “Budding writers will find this festival truly inspiring as there will be a wide range of experts on hand to advise them on improving their writing, self-publishing and securing a book deal with a publishing house.

“There will also be a writing workshop for children, so writers of all ages will gain from attending this event.”

Refreshments will be available and books will be for sale. Free parking before 11am.
