The school holidays saw the launch of a series of carnival themed free activities for children at the Four Seasons Shopping Centre, Mansfield.

The Buzzy B kids club kicked off on 29th July with a T-shirt decorating workshop followed by a carnival mask and hat creating event. Children aged 3 and over enjoyed the free activities with a fun party atmosphere and were joined by a host of characters, including Buzzy B, interactive giant bumble bees and beautiful butterflies on stilts!

On Tuesday, 12th August, the ‘Sounds of Rio’ will be taking place in the centre between 11am and 3pm. Children will be able to make and decorate instruments whilst listening to live steel drums and getting into the spirit of the crazy carnival beats.

‘Everybody Dance’ will take place on Tuesday, 19th August, where children will learn to dance, shimmy, shake and jump to samba beats. There will also be samba dancers performing throughout the day.

The final event will be a special ‘Back to School’ workshop on Tuesday 25th August, creating and decorating colourful canvas lunch bags ready for the start of the school term.

Rebekah O’Neill, centre manager commented: “The response to the summer Buzzy B club events has been phenomenal. It’s fantastic to see all these children coming along to the centre having fun and really enjoying themselves, as well as being able to take home their wonderful creations.

“We wanted to play our part in providing some free summer holiday entertainment for the community and I am delighted to see that families across the area have been able to make the most of them.

“All of the sessions are free to take part in and all children aged 3 and over are welcome to join us for one, or all of them.”
