Square Peg, a Mansfield charity, has received £500 from The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme.
Square Peg provides out-of-school leisure activities to young disabled people aged 13 to 24. The funds were awarded towards the cost of purchasing tickets for the Pride Performance Company to see a professional show.
Margaret Clement, of Square Peg, said: “The group performs regularly at local venues with each performance developing confidence and self-belief. Taking the performers to see a professional company perform will encourage them to raise their aspirations.”
The Mansfield’s marketing co-ordinator, Mandy Whitten said “We are pleased to help. These groups are essential for our local community and provide enjoyment through learning new skills in a social environment.”
