Asquith Primary School in Mansfield has transformed two existing classrooms into a bright Foundation Unit.

Parents and children went into school to look at the new facility and watch Bob The Builder open the unit.

The unit has new furniture and play equipment aimed at inspiring children in learning and play, while having a home-from-home feel.

There is a food preparation area and a garden with a potting shed.

The unit is appealing for organisations and gardeners to donate plants and other gardening resources.

Head Clare Harding said: “The school worked hard through the summer to achieve the opening of the unit. It was lovely that so many parents supported us by bringing their children to the unit ahead of their first day in school.”
