Beautiful award win for gift shop

MANSFIELD homeware, gift shop and tea room Beau-ti-ful Home and Gift on West Gate was named Business of the Year at the Mansfield 2020 Ball and Business Awards.

More than 240 leading business people attended the annual event at the Civic Centre, Mansfield.

Hosted by the award-winning Mansfield 2020 business development group, the awards rewarded the achievement of businesses that showed entrepreneurial and enterprising fortitude, and contributed to the economic development of the area.

Mansfield 2020 operations manager and event organiser Caroline Cox said: “It was our eighth awards evening and we had a record number of attendees.

“This demonstrates the growing desire and drive of the Mansfield business community to celebrate the efforts of one another.

“The atmosphere was electric and we are proud to host an event that showcases excellence. The spirit, enthusiasm and passion for positive changes were clear to see – everyone wants to put Mansfield on the map.

“Without the loyalty of our members and valued support from our sponsors we would not have been able to deliver an event that overwhelmed our attendees and rightfully delivered an evening that everyone truly deserved.”

Winners included:

Customer Focus Initiative – Pinders Opticians. Community Award – Mansfield Learning Partnership. Most Promising New Business – Senior Salmon Recruitment. Entrepreneurial Spirit – Trampoline Centre. Business of the Year – Beau-ti-ful Home and Gift shop.

The business community acknowledged young people for their professionalism and commitment to their organisation. The overall winner was Bethan Bingley, of CCM Print. Jack Naylor, of AMS, received a special recognition award for his transition from apprentice to full-time worker. The Coal Authority was rewarded in the new Career Champion category for its commitment to young people.

The Outstanding Contribution to Mansfield award was given to Phil Lyons for his tireless efforts for Mansfield. He thanked Mansfield 2020 for being a hub to bring together people who want to do good for the town and for providing them with the network to do so.

Board director and co-host Russell Jones said: “Phil has played and continues to play an integral role in making things happen for the good of this town. It is an honour to acknowledge all his hard work in front of the business community.”

Event sponsors included Mansfield Football Club, Fidler and Pepper and Mansfield Building Society. Each award category was individually sponsored by Purpose Media, Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies, Vision West Nottinghamshire College, Vision Apprentices, Brunts Academy, Mansfield Learning Partnership and Coun Derek Evans.
