£30,000 target for fundraisers

The biggest black-tie charity gala event in the area is set to return for a third year.

The Hall-Fast Charity Ball, this year being arranged in conjunction with the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chambers of Commerce, will be raising money for Fountaindale SEN School and brain injury charity Headway UK.

It will take place on Friday, 29th May at the John Fretwell Sporting Complex, Sookholme.

The event has raised £42,000 for the school on the Mansfield/Ashfield border in the past two years.
Mansfield-based industrial supplies firm Hall-Fast is organising many events to support the school this year.

Owner Mr Malk Hall, whose firm has won many awards in recent years, said they intended to raise £30,000 in the next year to be shared between the two causes.

“We hope half of the money will be raised from the charity ball,” he said.

Later this month, on 17th April, the Nottingham Rugby charity bike ride will boost the fund and Mr Hall is also taking part in a 300-mile bike ride in 24 hours, from Newcastle to London, in August.

Sponsors and people who have supported Hall-Fast’s fundraising in the past, including Hall-Fast’s community partners, visited Fountaindale to see how the money raised so far has been spent on new equipment.
