After a year organising fundraising activities at Huthwaite’s Victoria Club, Jenny Chambers presented the Amazon Breast Cancer Support Group with a cheque for £2,015.

Jenny was helped by the club’s landlord and landlady, Gary and Denise Waring; its supporters; her family, Samantha, Melanie and Chantelle; and friends, Margaret and Christine, Lawrence, and Don and Betty Caunt.

The money was raised through fun days, book and jumble sales, raffles, cake stalls, donations and other fundraising ideas.

A spokesman for the Amazons, which supports breast cancer patients at King’s Mill, said: “We thank Jenny and all her generous supporters at the Victoria Club.”
