20 good deeds for hospice

Youngsters in Mansfield can support children and young people at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People by taking on 20 good deeds this summer holidays.

Rainbows, which supports youngsters from Nottinghamshire, has launched its Do 20 for 20 campaign to coincide with its 20th birthday celebrations this year.

Throughout the summer, children are encouraged to raise vital funds by doing 20 good deeds in return for a donation from their family. Every time a good deed is carried out, a sticker is earned for children to complete a challenge sticker sheet.

Caroline Rossin, Rainbows community fundraiser in Mansfield, said: “This is a great way for youngsters to get involved and support Rainbows, as well as helping out at home and keeping entertained over the summer.

“There are lots of things they could do such as going without something, cleaning, selling things or gardening or they may have plenty of their own ideas.

“People can donate whatever they think the deed is worth and everything raised goes towards supporting the work of the hospice, which is the only hospice for children and young people with terminal and life-limiting illnesses in the East Midlands.

“Raising £10 would pay for an hour’s worth of care, £20 would fund one hour of physiotherapy, and an hour of external bereavement support would cost £50.

“It would be great to have the support of youngsters in Mansfield, especially in what is such an important year for us.”
