Youngster to walk 10 miles in aid of Pleasley Christmas Lights Switch-On fund

Posted onPosted on 18th Oct

Six-year-old Pleasley youngster Billy Dawes is walking 10 miles around the area to raise money for the village’s Christmas lights switch-on event appeal.

Billy and his mum, Eve, will be tackling the ‘Elf Billy’s Big 10-Mile Spirit Of Christmas Fundraiser’ dressed as Christmas elves on 31st October, from around 10am.

Volunteers have been working to organise the Christmas lights family event for 27th November, when they hope to light up Meden Square with Christmas colour.

Eve said: “We hope we have pulled in as much of Pleasley and the surrounding area as possible. Below is a breakdown of each 2.5mile phase with little comfort stops for Billy’s little legs at the end of each phase.

“Come along and say hi as we go along the course. We hope to see as many people as possible and look forward to spreading a bit of Christmas cheer throughout our lovely village.
“We will be setting off at 10am on the day and hope to be back in the square by approximately 2.30pm. We can’t wait to get going and to see you all.
“A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Billy so far.”
