Yeoman Hill Park competition

Members of the public are being offered a last chance to submit photographs taken this year of Yeoman Hill Park, Mansfield Woodhouse, for a competition being run by the Friends of Yeoman Hill Park to mark the park’s centenary.

The FOYHP is particularly looking for photographs that show the changes that have been made to the park this year or of events that have happened in 2014.

The photographs will also be put in a time capsule that the Friends will be burying at the beginning of next year, along with a record of the events that have taken place in the park this year. The time capsule has been sponsored by Mansfield Building Society.

The group is also open to suggestions for items to include in the time capsule, email the Friends on [email protected] or ring Linda on 01623 429334.

Corinna Brown, vice-chairman of the FOYHP, said: “Most people have a camera on their phone. I’m sure there have been many photographs taken of the Park as we have run many centenary events this year and there have been other public events to organised by other groups.

“Any photographs are welcome. We have some entries but we would love more. We will be finding a place to display them at the end of the year. They have already been displayed in the Park over the summer but we hope to have even more entries by the end of the year.

“We are very excited by the filling of a time capsule and would love other groups or people to offer ideas and suggestions of items they have that would reflect the local community.”
