WI summer fair success

The Forest Town branch of the Women’s Institute raised £971 at its annual Summer Fair at Samworth Church Academy, Mansfield.

Elaine Pinnick, president, said: “The money helps us book great speakers for our meetings and perhaps our members can enjoy a glass of wine or orange juice during the meeting.”

She said some of the money would be used for centenary celebrations.

Christine Cawthorne, who has been a member for more than 20 years, said: “We are well supported by the people of Forest Town, who give generously of their time and money. It is friendly, everyone is so welcoming.”

The fair had cake stalls, tombola, raffles and a book stall, and jewellery and scarves for sale.
