Washing up charity cash

Posted onPosted on 21st Sep

Generous firefighters and volunteers at Ashfield Fire Station raised money for two charities at a car wash.

A total of £725.90 was presented to The Little Ted Foundation, which supports bereaved families and those with seriously ill children. A similar amount was raised for The Fire Fighters Charity.

More than 100 vehicles, including a 40ft lorry, were washed at the station.

Firefighters said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported our car wash.

“Support comes in many ways. You may have visited and had your car washed, shared our social media posts, or let family and friends know what we were doing today. Thank you to each and everyone one of you.

“We had a very busy day, while still responding to emergencies.

“Thanks to The Little Ted Foundation, who helped at the station — 50% of the donations will go them to help with the great work they do.”

A blind auction at the fundraiser for a holiday donated by the charity also helped to boost the fundraising total.
