Summer in the city

The forthcoming summer season at the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, offers a mix of music, drama and comedy from this month to August.

In August, the theatre Royal welcomes the return of the annual Colin McIntyre Classic Thriller Season featuring four intriguing murder mysteries to solve, including Jekyll and Hyde, Suddenly At Home, Night Must Fall and Stage Struck.

Some of the UK’s biggest musical theatre on stage includes Dirty Dancing, Jesus Chrust Superstar and Anything Goes.

Another comedy musical making a welcome return is Spamalot, starring Joe Pasquale as King Arthur and his son, Joe Tracini, as his manservant Patsy.

Two cricketing highlights at the Royal Concert Hall include An Evening With Boycott And Aggers, featuring Geoffrey Boycott and Jonathan Agnew, and Freddie Flintoff: 2nd Innings, when the former England star will share his memories and insights.

Music fans can choose between Elvis Costello, Jane McDonald, The Overtones and The Moody Blues. The music of the 1950s, 60s and 70s will be celebrated in rock ‘n’ roll variety show That’ll Be The Day.
