Mansfield BID has organised four events for the town centre during the school holidays — a family sci-fi day, a summer evening market, the chance to see an F1 car and simulator, and a beach party.
The sci-fi day is on Saturday, 26th July, 11am-3pm, at the Buttercross, West Gate.
There will be the chance to see characters from Star Wars and Dr Who, plus children’s sci-fi activities and competitions for all the family
The market is on Thursday, 7th August, 6pm-9.30pm, in the Market Place.
There will be more than 40 craft, food and drink stalls; a free bouncy castle for children; and summer music and entertainment throughout the evening.
There will be an F1 Show day on both Thursday 14th and 21st, August, 11am-3pm, when there will be an F1 car equipped with a simulator in the Market Place.
The town centre is also hosting a beach party again, from Saturday, 23rd to Saturday, 30th August, 10am-4pm.
There will be a beach, traditional deck chairs, buckets and spades, souvenir rock, seagulls, beach music and the BIG yellow bus.
