Stallholders wanted for speciality markets

Do you have boxes of unwanted baby clothes and equipment stored away? Do you make beautiful craft products or bake delicious cakes or savouries? If so, Mansfield Market could be the perfect place for you to sell your goods.

To celebrate Love Your Local Market fortnight 2015 (13 May – 27 May), Mansfield District Council is holding two specialist events in the Market Place – a baby and children’s market and an arts, crafts and food market.

The baby and children’s market, which takes place on Wednesday, 13th May, will give stallholders the opportunity to sell their preloved toys, books, clothes and equipment. Stalls cost £5.

The arts, crafts and food market on Saturday, 16th May, will see the sale of hand-made crafts, gifts and jewellery, as well as home-baked food products. Stalls cost £15 and there will be free car parking.

The ‘Love Your Local Market’ fortnight is a national campaign, which seeks to celebrate markets across the country and demonstrate their importance as a community asset.

Head of Neighbourhood Services at Mansfield District Council, Martyn Thurman said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Love Your Local Market campaign once again with the introduction of these speciality market events.

“These markets provide the perfect opportunity for people to turn their talents and their pre-loved goods into cash. Quality baby and children’s products are always in demand and hand-made crafts make wonderful gifts. And if you are the next Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood, this is an ideal way to sell your home-baked wares.

“Whether you are a buyer or seller, we want people to show their love for Mansfield Market during the Love Your Local Market fortnight.”
