Music industry experts who have worked with the likes of EMI are helping young people across the county prepare for a creative music extravaganza this month.
Nottinghamshire County Council presents its County Youth Arts Showcase 2015 – with three shows in just one week across the county – celebrating the cream of talent in Nottinghamshire.
Working alongside County Youth Arts colleagues at Nottinghamshire County Council, there has been vital support from a number of experts including Simon Tew and Ronnie Sampson, who are commissioned artists at County Youth Arts, in Leeming Street, Mansfield. Simon and Ronnie are both also full-time musicians who have produced music for EMI which has then been used by MTV and other outlets.
A former director with the company Eight Three AV, Simon also manages The Old Library’s independent record label, In The End Records.
Councillor Liz Plant, Vice-Chairman of the Children and Young People’s Committee at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “We have a wonderful track record of nurturing and developing creative young talent across the county in music and the arts – with support from industry experts. Showcase 2015 gives us another opportunity to work alongside some of our key partners to help young people demonstrate their talents and promises to be a wonderful week of events.”
