Local groups to perform at Palace

Posted onPosted on 16th Feb

Spring is on its way — and that means the chance to see Mansfield groups take to the stage at the town’s Palace Theatre.

This March there is something for everyone, including original artists, interactive shows and local talent.
Mansfield Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society is staging the feelgood family classic Oklahoma! from Wednesday 9th to Sunday, 13th March.

The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical is a story of feuding cattlemen and farmers, and two love rivalries, told through well-known songs like Oh, What A Beautiful Morning! and Oklahoma!

Another local group taking to the stage during March is New Youth Theatre, which will be performing Oliver! on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th.

The Palace is throwing the Ultimate Boyband Party on Thursday, 3rd March, so look out for songs from Take That, Westlife, Boyzone, East 17, Backstreet Boys and more.

There is the chance to say ‘Hello Again’ to The Story Of Neil Diamond on Friday 4th, featuring all his classic hits from Love On The Rocks to Sweet Caroline.

There will be tributes to five pop legends in one night with Roy Orbison And The Traveling Wilburys Experience the following evening.

It will feature favourite songs from Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan.

If you fancy yourself as Jessica Fletcher, why not go along to what promises to be a hilarious night of games, prizes and audience participation in Solve-Along-Murder-She-Wrote on Tuesday, 22nd March.

The following evening one of the 60s’ biggest bands, Herman’s Hermits, will be playing.
