Horse racing, the Red Devils and more for Services fund

Posted onPosted on 28th May

Local Rotary clubs have organised a special charity event to help a new treatment centre for injured military personnel.

The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC), at Stanford Hall, Nottinghamshire, deals with amputees and complex brain injuries.

An evening of racing and family fun at Southwell Racecourse on 16th July will raise money for the centre’s Benevolent Fund.

It provides support for holistic, occupational and social integration initiatives for injured Service patients who are not part of the specialist rehabilitation provided by the MoD.

This extra support is dependent on donations from the public and plays a special part in getting patients back to normal life.

Gates will open at Southwell Racecourse from 4pm with the first race at 6.10pm.

In addition to seven National Hunt races, there will be other attractions — the world-famous Red Devils Parachute Display team will be skydiving on to the racecourse; a children’s fun fair; vintage and super cars; super bikes; jazz and bugle groups; heavy horses; and much more.

The usual £14 cost of entry has been reduced to just £10 per person with the ROTARY19 promotional code (accompanied under-18s go free).

Go to www.southwell-racecourse.co.uk or call 01636 814481 to buy tickets, using the special promotion code – ROTARY19.
