High note for Blue Ivy as they win Battle of the Bands competition

Young Mansfield talent Blu Ivy were the winners of the Battle Of The Bands competition at The Civic Quarter, Mansfield.

Band members, Tom Scott, Elliot Needham, Will Love, and Lily Hewitt, all aged between 15 and 17, wowed the judges with their diverse collection of original songs and covers.

They took first place head of second-placed Slowmo 75, Autogenic, The News Transients and The Addiction after a tense count of the judges’ and audience votes.

Hosted by The Civic Quarter, the event was supported by representatives from Kings Clipstone Brewery, Unit 5 Studios and two members from Mansfield band For The Girl.

Blu Ivy won £100, a day’s recording kindly donated by Unit 5 Studios on Wood Street, Mansfield, and a slot at the Kings Clipstone Festival in 2020.

There is also a possibility of supporting other bands.

More than 150 people attended the event.
