Helping you to Feel Good during Covid-19

Posted onPosted on 5th May

Mansfield District Council has pooled together staff from its leisure and culture teams to create a hub of information, activities and advice.

The resource, called ‘Helping you to Feel Good’, is at www.mansfield.gov.uk/feelgoodhub.

The wellbeing hub features four main sections covering exercise, nutrition, education and mental health. Updated weekly, the hub will have a variety of material such as armchair and easy movement exercise videos, nutritional advice and recipes, educational activities from Mansfield Museum and Mansfield Palace Theatre and mental health signposting and advice. There is also the opportunity to go back and access previous material by clicking the archived button under each section.

The health and wellbeing hub aims to support residents to be active in and around the home, eat healthily through tasty recipes and take part in activities together.

It also raises the importance of mental wellbeing during lockdown and provides signposting to support tools.

Cllr Amanda Fisher, Portfolio Holder for Safer Communities and Wellbeing said: “The ‘Feel Good’ guidance is there for all residents, regardless of age and ability and I feel this is another positive way that the council is trying to support and look after its residents.

“Featuring exercises, nutritional advice, educational activities and mental health signposting, updated weekly, it’s another way that we can support people.”

The council also welcomes your contributions by uploading what has been achieved, at whatever level, be it the armchair workout, cooking or something you’ve made together as a family. It may be that the achievement was mentally just getting through the day.

The council is keen for residents to use the resource to help them to feel good during covid-19.
