There is a rare opportunity to explore an aspect of Mansfield Museum’s collection completely unknown to most visitors.
From Saturday, 29th February to Saturday, 29th August it will be displaying 250 framed objects in a floor-to-ceiling exhibition of scores of seldom-seen artworks.
The content is hugely varied: portraits vie with landscapes; large-as-life epics dwarf tiny miniatures. A whole range of styles is represented, in all manner of media. Some subjects are generalised; others are of valuable local interest.
Works date back to the 19th Century.
Mansfield Museum is free to get in and open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
