Drive-in festival revises dates

Posted onPosted on 25th Jun

Nightflix Drive-In Festival, the UK’s first-announced UK live music Drive-In, has revealed a revised schedule for its summer line-up of shows at Newark Showground as well as the inclusion of a movie.

Nightflix Drive-in Festival is a series of nine live music concerts taking place over nine consecutive nights in August – nine acts will each take centre stage for one night.

The line-up comprises some of the UK’s tribute acts. As well as a support DJ, each event will now also include a movie following the main performance. Tickets are priced from £39 per car.

Guests are required to adhere to government guidelines regarding mixing households, but can bring a full car to enjoy the show.

Gates open at 5pm with the entertainment starting at 6.15pm. The main acts will appear at 7.30pm followed by a film at 9.45pm. The films have yet to be confirmed, go to www.nightflix.co.uk for updates.

Prices start at £39 per car, plus booking fee.

The line-up of music acts is:

Saturday 15th August – The Ultimate Girl Power Night (Ariana Grande, Little Mix and Spice Girls tribute)

Sunday 16th – Tony Skingle is Elvis (Elvis tribute)

Monday 17th – Complete Madness (Madness tribute)

Tuesday 18th – Fu Fighters (Foo Fighters tribute)

Wednesday 19th – Rule The World (Take That tribute)

Thursday 20th – Elite Elton (Elton John tribute)

Friday 21st – Sensation (Abba Tribute)

Saturday 22nd – The Tom Seals Band (a night of Jazz, Blues and Rock n Roll)

Sunday 23rd – The Kopycat Killers (The Killers tribute)

Nightflix said it anticipated that August would offer greater freedom for revellers to picnic and/or dance around their cars and therefore enhance the experience.

Nightflix founder John Sullivan said: “Our main priorities are safety and enjoyment. We want our guests to feel looked after, know they are in a safe environment and to have the best time they can possibly have. With live music, the desire to dance and share the experience with friends is key. With this slight shift in dates, we hope to be able to offer guests a little more freedom of movement to maximise the fun without impacting on their safety.”

Tickets for the original July dates will be valid for the corresponding August performances. Refunds will be available for those who cannot reschedule. In addition, July ticket holders will be able to join a Drive-In Cinema show on the date of their original show, so they won’t lose that night out in their July diary. Ticket holders will be contacted by Nightflix directly.

Nightflix has partnered with local charity Home-Start Newark. The charity offers support to families with children or a child under five who are struggling to cope. Each ticket sale for the revised schedule will see a donation going to Home Start.

Sara Grant, Home-Start senior organiser: “Home-Start Newark are delighted to be chosen as a charity partner for these Nightflix Drive-In Festivals. We are overwhelmed with their generosity. These funds will help us to continue to provide our vital support for local families during this very challenging time.”
