Classic car show geared up for return

Posted onPosted on 20th Mar

Classic car owners. auto enthusiasts, and the general public are being invited to the Berry Hill Park Classic Car Show in Mansfield.

Supported by Nottingham Triumph Sports Six Club, the event is returning for a second year to support Mansfield District Council’s destination park plan.

Organiser Pete Draycott said all marques of classic car are welcome at the show, on Sunday, 25th June, from 10am to 4pm. It will also include entertainment for all the family, such as music, fun, and games.

A total of 130 cars were on display last year, ranging from a 1910 steam car, a 1930s’ Rolls-Royce, and a Land Rover Wolf to old Ford Escorts, an E-Type Jaguar, and American vintage vehicles.

Building on the success of that first show, there will be a full entertainment programme, featuring Blidworth Brass Band, Annesley’s Acacia Radio, The Beatles tribute act Fab 2, and Kirkby vocalist Danny Draycott.

Rapide will provide circus and magic tricks, while there will also be a variety of stalls and a children’s entertainer.

The show is supported by Nottingham Triumph Sports Six Club, whose area organisers/liaison officers Nigel Hill and Di Allen said they were looking forward to the show.

They added that it would be an opportunity to see a selection of historic vehicles from the golden age of motoring, lovingly restored and maintained by their dedicated owners. Some of these were the backbone of our motoring history during the last century.

Show organisers thanked councillors Andre Camilleri and Stephen Garner for their help in securing a donation from Nottinghamshire County Council towards the event.

Anyone wanting to enter a car into the show should contact Pete and Sandra on 07507 682205 or email [email protected]

Show car entry is by wristband only, £5 per car (passengers free). Numbers will be limited and bookings taken on a first-come basis.
