Budding young dancers and musicians wanted

Posted onPosted on 21st Sep

After a year of delivering its weekly dance and music projects online, the Inspire Youth Arts team, based at The Old Library on Leeming Street, Mansfield, is back and looking for new recruits.

As well as a number of contemporary dance groups at venues across the county, the team also runs a street dance group, MX Street Dance Collective, at the Old Library each week with various sessions tailored for the complete beginner through to more advanced dancers, all of whom get to learn new techniques, work on their choreography skills and perform as a crew at regional dance events.

For the more musically minded there is a wide range of music sessions taking place, from the Old Library Rock School programme and Singer-Songwriter Academy, to swing bands, choirs steel pans and urban music, taking place in their professional recording studio and rehearsal rooms.

Sam Holgate-Davey, principal arts officer for Inspire Youth Arts, said: “We’re just so happy to finally be back meeting with our groups each week and seeing the amazing talent Mansfield has to offer. Our professional dancers and musicians work so hard with the groups to develop their talents, boost their confidence and help them to unlock their full potential, we can’t wait to see what they have in store in the coming months”.
