Mansfield Community and Voluntary Services (CVS) has launched a new website and online community portal to help support community organisations and voluntary groups.
The new-look website has been created for free by local web design and online marketing agency SF Media.
The partnership between Mansfield CVS and SF Media came through the Business Connector programme, run by national charity Business in the Community.
It aims to connect the needs of communities with the resources and expertise of local businessesto “secure a fairer society and a more sustainable future.”
SF Media directors Pete Scully and Jamie Fryatt initially agreed to meet with the CVS to offer time and advice on how to update its website. However, after being humbled by what they saw, the entrepreneurs decided to design and build a brand website for free.
They have also pledged to continue to offer training, advice and website hosting — at no cost — for the life of the website to ensure the CVS has the ongoing support needed to underline its commitment to the community.
The new website features key information about Mansfield CVS and the community projects it is involved in, as well of online resources for the voluntary sector, a training and events calendar and voluntary groups directory.
The site will be an online community portal for the voluntary sector, connecting charities and organisations and giving them a central place to advertise their own news, projects and events.
At the Mansfield CVS annual meeting, marketing co-ordinator Kate Boughton said: “We are incredibly grateful to SF Media for our fantastic new website. We appreciate that they took time to understand us and our work before building the site, to ensure that it functions exactly as we need it to.
“We want to thank Pete and Jamie for their commitment and ongoing support to us and the voluntary sector.”
Marketing director at SF Media Pete Scully said: “We are delighted to be in a position to help Mansfield CVS and to showcase the fantastic work they do locally.
“Everyone involved with this project has put in a lot of hard work over the past nine months. To hear such positive feedback at the AGM makes me proud.”
