Mansfield District Council’s Neighbourhood Wardens have been awarded the Investors in Best Practice Charter for the second successive year.

Assessors praised the wardens for their partnership work, effective public communications and service provision. They were also impressed by the positive feedback on the service via the Citizens’ Panel.

The charter, previously known as the Warden’s Charter, aims to:

Give communities more power.
Encourage an active community.
Transfer power to local government.
Support mutual charities and social enterprises.
Promote the sharing of performance information.

Coun Mick Barton, portfolio holder for public protection, said: “This award reflects the excellent work carried out by our Neighbourhood Wardens, who deal with all kinds of issues from environmental crime, anti-social behaviour and community work.”
