The rain did not dampen the romantic spirit of shoppers at Mansfield Market on Valentine’s Day as they browsed the stalls for great gifts, while being entertained by violinist Rob Jourdain.

Every person who made a purchase from the market got the chance to enter a prize draw. Overall, there were 176 entrants.

The winners were:

1st Prize – £20 voucher for BB’s Italian Restaurant – Rabela Oaepka

2nd Prize – A selection of flowers and plants donated by The Plant Stop, Sanita’s flowers and D and S flower – Megan Stringer

3rd Prize – Valentine’s chocolate donated by K and S sweets – D. Strouther

Cllr Kate Allsop, Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration at Mansfield District Council said: “Hundreds of people enjoyed shopping at our Valentine’s market, picking up gifts for their loved ones. With Mothering Sunday coming up next month, I would recommend that shoppers come down to the market and get some ideas for that perfect present.”
