The Cornwater Club, an older people’s charity based in Ravenshead, has received an award of £490 from The Mansfield Building Society’s Community Support Scheme towards the cost of seven art class sessions, including teachers fees and materials.

Melissa Blythe from the Cornwater Club said: “We are grateful to The Mansfield for donating these funds. The club offers friendship and activities and prevents older people becoming socially-isolated in their own homes.”

The Mansfield’s marketing co-ordinator, Mandy Whitten, said “We are pleased to help. These types of clubs are essential for our local community and provide enjoyment through learning new skills in a social environment.”
