Support for council

A new blueprint for how Nottinghamshire County Council services will be delivered in the future has been supported by local people.

A total of 1,600 people responded to the six-week Redefining Your Council public consultation, which sets out plans about how the council will deliver services in the future in the face of a £77m budget cut.

In summary, the results of the Redefining Your Council survey, completed by 501 people, showed that:
•58% of respondents strongly agreed/agreed with the council’s overall approach
•59% of respondents strongly agreed/agreed that the approach upheld the council’s three core values of treating people fairly, value for money and working together
•the majority of respondents agreed with the council’s stated reasons for the need to change the way it works including changing demographics; policy changes and new technology
•62% of respondents strongly agreed/agreed that the council will need to source services from a range of different suppliers in the future including private and public sector alongside inhouse provision.
