Summer Event at Woodhouse

The Friends of Yeoman Hill Park and Mansfield Woodhouse Community Develop Group’s Village Social and Fundraising Group have come together to create a birthday party feel to the villages annual summer event.

On 21st June from 12noon-4pm local residents of Mansfield and Woodhouse can help celebrate 100 years since the Duke of Portland gave the park to the local people.

There will be attractions for all ages such as bands and singers, climbing wall and slacklining, play and crafts activities. Demonstrators include a wool spinner, Mines Rescue Station, vintage cars and vehicles.

Harmonybeat, a local band, are set to play throughout the afternoon alongside Welbeck Brass Band and a number of other local singers.

The Friends of Yeoman Hill Park are having a stall to find out what the people of Woodhouse want from a piece of public artwork they have planned in this centenary year. They also want to talk to people about their memories of the Park in years gone by.

A variety of stalls will be on the park, selling refreshments and sweets, running fun activities and fundraising games for local groups, as well as local business people selling craft items.

There will also be other groups there to entertain people such as Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, a local blacksmith, stalls run by schools and Saville House school choir.
