It was a case of “lights, camera and action” as students from Portland College undertook a work-focused visit to the BBC’ television and radio HQ in Nottingham.

Jo Davies, radio broadcaster, led students who are studying undertaking media and related studies on a look behind the scenes.

Students saw a live television broadcast of the East Midlands Today news programme and watched BBC Radio Nottingham presenters whilst on air.

Students also got hands-on with equipment in the gallery and in the main television studio.
