Seven students from Queen Elizabeth’s Academy, Mansfield, spent a week at Plastek UK on work experience.

The year 10 pupils, who have an interest in engineering, all spent time in the Tool Room, Maintenance, Tool Setters, and Technical departments.

A spokesman for the company said: “From the feedback we received they really enjoyed their experience here.

“At Plastek UK we like to give young adults an opportunity to see what a working environment is like and to give them to chance to see what they enjoy and are interested in.”

All seven students said they would happily return to Plastek UK if given the opportunity and described their overall experience as excellent with friendly and helpful staff.

One said: “I learnt about how some of the machines work, like the blow moulders.”

Another added: “I learnt how to take tools apart, clean them, and put them back together.”
