Mansfield Town’s five-match losing away run finally came to an end at Newport County on Tuesday night.

Substitute Reggie Lambe struck the winner seven minutes from time, moments after former Stag Adam Chapman struck the bar for the home side.

It meant the Stags, who defeated Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday, had secured back-to-back wins for the first time since September and moved up to 17th, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Mansfield travel to Cheltenham, who occupy one of the bottom two places, on Saturday.
